(In 2002) After graduation from WCHS, I joined the US Air Force serving four years as a Morse Intercept Operator. Upon discharge I started my "college career". I graduated from Southern Illinois University, May 1974, with highest honors with a BS degree in the Administration of Justice. Continuing my education I graduated from SIU, May 1976, with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling.
Upon receiving my Masters degree, I worked for the Vermilion County Probation Office, 1976- 77; Federal Correctional Institution, Ashland, KY, 1977; General Motors, Danville, IL, 1977-81; Carbon County Coal mine at Hanna, WY, 1981-86, as an underground electrician; Upon its closure I decided to seek employment with some gency (institution) where my chances of
retirement would not be curtailed by layoffs nd/or closures or cave-ins! Dept. of the Air Force- Chanute AFB Training instructor teaching electronics, 1986-92.
I decided upon the Department of the Air Force. I was hired at Chanute AFB in March 1986 as a Training Instructor teaching electronics. In 1992 Chanute closed and I was transferred to Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, TX where I have been promoted to Master Training Instructor teaching aircraft electronics.
I married Ellen Cox (Hoopeston, IL) March 17, 1969 in Cape Girardeau, MO and divorced Ellen Scharlach on January 19, 1996. Of this marriage were borne two children: Tim (Hoopeston, IL) age 32 and Tammy (Iowa Park, TX) age 24. June 26, 1999 gladly married Margaret Wiseman in Wichita Falls, TX. In addition to my three grandchildren, I now have a step- daughter (Meg) and a step-son (Gary).
I still love to hunt and fish!
